Hapag-Lloyd is the first shipowner to be awarded an Environment Certificate for its new containerships by the German "See-Berufsgenossenschaft" (regulatory agency). The company is thus several steps ahead of statutory regulations.

 10.08.01   Systematic fleet expansion  
Hapag-Lloyd today signed a contract for the long-term charter of four large containerships in order to increase its capacities in view of the ongoing growth in global container transport. The newbuildings will be delivered at the end of 2003 and beginning of 2004

Pieces of the Berlin Wall are to be displayed in front of the United Nations building in New York. The three segments were dispatched to "Big Apple" today

After Ballindamm and Ballinhaus, Hamburg now also has a Ballinkai. The already completed quay facility of the Altenwerder container terminal (CTA) has been named after Hapag's great director general.

 12.03.01   Hapag-Lloyd participates in Internet portal 'Inttra' Further improvement in service for customers 
Hapag-Lloyd Container Line is participating with other international liner companies in 'Inttra', the container shipping Internet portal. For customers this means considerable less outlay on communication with logistics partners.

 12.02.01   Hapag-Lloyd AG and Hamburger Hafen- und Lagerhaus AG 
have agreed that Hapag-Lloyd will account for a share of 25.1 percent in HHLA Container-Terminal Altenwerder GmbH

 03.01.01   Mediterranean/US East Coast and US Gulf  
The Mediterranean has become a fast-growing market with a high cargo volume. In early February 2001 Hapag-Lloyd will expand its existing liner network with a fourth service linking the Mediterranean with the US East Coast and the US Gulf .
