Hapag-Lloyd is an international shipping company with more than 150 years experience. For our office in Lima, Peru we are looking for you for the following position:
Coordinator, Operations
Tasks
- Produces fast and accurate documentation/delivery instructions
- Coordinates moves in the most cost effective manner possible
- Responds to customers questions regarding their shipments
- If applicable, coordinates transshipments
- Releases equipment in a timely manner
- Sends preadvices/acceptances to depots
- Creates work orders for empty moves
- Creates bookings for empty shipments
- Traces containers, chassis and generator sets
- Ensures that chassis and containers are at the appropriate locations and in usable condition
- Updates various reports and cleans the error file
- Controls costs for shipping, positioning equipment and maintenance and repairs and evaluates vendor performance
- Arranges for repair of equipment
- Develops and maintains appropriate working relationships with vendors and monitors vendors to ensure they are in line with Hapag-Lloyd standards and requirements
Monitors estimates and actual repairs to ensure that specifications are followed
- Maintains and updates MARS system
- Traces shipments to ensure that all containers load as booked and that all containers are discharged correctly
- Ensure that all terminal events are updated and make updates as necessary
- Checks information in the terminal and Hapag-Lloyd systems against actual documentation and for indications of hazardous cargo
- Assures vessels are loaded and unloaded in a timely fashion
- WW MoT coordination for full inland shipments (export/import)
- Prepares hazardous manifests and collects hazardous dock receipts; Hazardous Dock Receipts are combined to the information contained within the booking
- Provides a Terminal Departure Report or a Regional Departure Report to be sent to GASC with copies to Lines
- Maintains the vessel’s arrival/sailing time (FIS2 – V2510)
- Provides Cost Quotes on the B/Bulk and OOG cargo prior to acceptance
- Creation of SAP P/O for port and terminals
- Provides Reefer Logs and Cargo Exception Forms where required
Requirements
- Experience in the liner shipping business or forwarding
- Responsible, decisive and outgoing personality
- Ability to take initiative and able to work under pressure
- Ability to work in a team and to motivate others / highly communicative
- Attention to detail, analytical, systematic and efficient way of working
- Comprehensive knowledge of user application systems (MS Office, FIS, SAP, etc.)
- Ability to work multiple functions, switching between Port Operations, ED, & TD
- Intermediate knowledge of written and spoken English required
- Excellent command of written and spoken Spanish required
